This whole thing took like two hours-
Anybody have times when things just pop out? I work best in these two hour spurts- I think I need an editor or something to finess things after they've shot out of me.
Broke all the blokes in my hand
I sampled Miles Davis a (very) little bit, and I'm pretty pleased with the organ hihat. I'm really satisfied with the bass sound (MS-20).

I like this a lot. Reminds me of DJ Shadow, one of my favorites. Only thing I can suggest is that the vibraphone is a bit too high.

I don't know Andrew, i go to all the trouble to compile everything i could find of your stuff just the other day and put it on CD, scouring both this board and your site and then you go and add one. Jesus.
This is great, really, IMO one of your best, great 'vibe' (ha, i kill me) to it. There are a couple of points right near the start where the upper notes on the vibes come out a little harsh, but other than that i'd say you're golden. Nice work mate, nice work. This'll get em moving.

Just a thought, and not really for this tune, but miles in mind, have you ever tried a wah on the vibes?

Re: This whole thing took like two hours-
Thanks Rigsby, Sleepy, Cranial-
I added onto the end; and changed the name- Let's launch over it
I ran the drums through my MS-20's filters- something I need to do more often...
The beginning on this version is a little messed up, I'm at work and can't fix it from here : ) Also, the vocals are just messing around, but I think Michael and I are going to try to wrangle some girls into saying "space!" and maybe add a few other vocals or something, we'll see.
Thanks for your support, guys!

I haven't- that would be really interesting playing the wah- I'll be able to do that once I get my mixer (whenever that is) : )Rigsby wrote:Just a thought, and not really for this tune, but miles in mind, have you ever tried a wah on the vibes?
I've been toying around with doing some distortion on the vibes a-la Stark Reality.

Did you mess with the vibes at all? They sound fine now.
The new beat you bring in from :32 to :52 is clipping. It sounds like maybe the loop points were cut where the audio wasn't at 0db. I say that because I used to get the same type of clipping when I mixed on my old Akai S20 sampler. It sounds like little pops, not so much distortion. Most notably around :39.
