I've got a pair that I did. They're cool. The pots do SUCK though, they all crackle, I just live with it. I like it for acoustic guitar, does the Stones-ish acoustic sound well. Extremely easy mod, I'm technically challenged and it was a breeze.

I did the mod to a MP110. I like it, but did it right after I got it, so I don't know what they're like stock. One of the previous owners had already switched the tube out, because it had a decent one in there when I got it, not the Sovtek, so I just had to swap the opamp.
I've been thinking about putting in a 12AU7 or 12AT7 in place of the 12AX7. The lower gain tubes are supposed to give more harmonic detail and more headroom (so I've read). It seems like a good match for this pre since it's not really made to take the best advantage of the distortion from the 12AX7-- another stage distorts before the tube does. Haven't tried the other tubes yet to see what the tonal difference is.

Try the RP503 mod. Holy shit, I like it a lot. I tried a bunch of tubes and really ended up liking the GE 12AU7. I replaced the pots and the opamps and it's quiet and responsive. I smile when I think of it.
