Alesis 3630 on a Satellite Dish

Post by lifeintime » Tue Nov 08, 2005 5:36 pm

This looks like the right forum area, if not, I apologise.

I have DirecTV and a 55" HD television and I have always hated having the commercials considerably louder than the broadcast. Alesis 3630 to the rescue.I patched this baby between the reciever and the television a few weeks ago, and it sure does make an audible difference. Black lion mod not necessary. Of course, those of you who have full surround systems probably don't have this type of problem.

I haven't really played with it much other than mess with the ratio ratio. Broadcast compression is most noticable during scenes where the background audio tracks are really pumped.

Anyone else done anything like this?
What? No Gravy???

No, but the problem's even worse on Canada's satellite TV stations. My only problem is that I don't want to permanently give up my dbx 119 to my TV system.

Maybe it's time to score a used 3630!

Best,
