We played a show with a band from new york a couple months back and the drummer had a Premier kit that sounded amazing. While he was setting up the sound just blew me away and although I talked with him I forgot to ask what series they were (they looked newer). Then last night I sat in on a blues jam where the drummer had a little 70's Premier set, 18 bass, 12 tom and 14 floor tom. Once again the toms sounded amazing, although the bass drum was a bit small and open for a blues band, even low volume. I don't know what type of wood the 70's premier was, I am guessing maple, but they sounded great.
Anyway I have never had a chance to actually hear Premiers in person and in the last couple of months I have heard two very very nice sounding kits and was wondering if anyone had expereince with their Artist or Premier series? I am not looking for vintage drums as I have some Gretsch roundbadges that sound amazing but require a nightmarish amount of tuning to get right.
Anyone play some of the newer Premier Drums?
