DIY talkback remote

Post by Rodgre » Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:57 am

While perusing the beginner's kits at You Do It yesterday after the Parson's Pro Audio expo near Boston, I picked up a tiny IR/remote triggered relay project for $20.

I had been wanting to build some sort of a circuit to control the remote talkback switch in a PreSonus Central Station, and this does the trick.

It works with any button on any IR remote (so I have to be careful not to put the receiver right next to the DAT machine!)

Now, I would like to build a dedicated remote transmitter for it. Maybe someone can help me here?

I would like to be able to press a momentary switch, and when it's depressed, it sends out a short pulse to an IR LED, and when I stop pressing the switch, it sends out another pulse. See, this receiver needs me to press two times, once to switch it on, the other to switch it off.

Any simple circuits that would do this?

Roger
