No we all don't. I don't see the point in moving recorded material from one format to another just to edit when the original format edits like a 60 year-old sushi chef.tubemonkey35 wrote:We all use something like Nuendo or other DAWS for those functions, since getting in and out of RADAR digitally is so easy.

No, but as I suspected, I bought the drive that iZ uses.John Noll wrote:Chris, did you get the combo drive directly from iZ?
I haven't done any transfers in a work environment yet. I just got all of it installed and operationala few days ago. I've also been slammed with sessions the past week, so I haven't been able to do much with it yet. I did pull a few things into it that I had lying around via the combo drive and it worked fairly quickly. Seemed to be faster than ftp, but I could be wrong about that. I have gotten the ftp set up out at the new studio and it works fine.John Noll wrote:Do you prefer transfering WAV files via DVD as opposed to ftp?
I'm in the middle of mixing an album that the former studio owner tracked and was in PT. I wanted to do the transfers before I had the combo drive installed in case I ran into any funky issues, so I did it that way just to be safe. I think tomorrow I'm gonna try exporting some stuff to CDR or DVD, just to get into that. The combo drive is backing up and restoring from DVD RAM like a champ. I really want to get into just writing native broadcast wavs, but I think I have the only mashine around here currently running v3.37. Two of the others I've been using the last few years are at 3.26, so I couldn't take a drive initialized for BWFs to another room if I had to for some reason.
I've got a live remote jazz trio record in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to do that one 96k BWF.
