Tascam M520 opinions

Post by Leopold » Fri Nov 11, 2005 5:34 pm

I can get a Tascam M520 for about $500 and I'm wondering if it'd be an improvement soundwise over my Soundtracs Topaz. Any thoughts?

i would say no. your topaz is pretty sweet. i had the m50, like the 520 but smaller, then the topaz, and blah blah blah, now i have one of those fw1884 jobbers and miss the pre amps on the topaz. i would keep the topaz.

no.

i have an m520 and it's cool from a utility standpoint, but from what i know about the soundtracs, i don't imagine it would sound nearly as good.

i have a pm1000 and prefer to use it to mix because it sounds worlds better...
