Jeremy, that Soundcraft guide is exactly what I needed. I have definitely over complicated things in the past, and for the first time some of these things are starting to seem clear and or obvious to me. Thanks a bunch.

When I had my first job at a studio the only experience I had engineering was with a 4-track cassette. I went over the console manual a ton of times. I would even draw out signal flow on a peice of paper to understand what was happening. That helped me quite a bit.
