DIY: Mic Stands

Post by OneZero » Fri Dec 02, 2005 10:15 am

Any cheap ideas for putting together something to hold some microphones up over a drum set?

I'm really in need for one or two extra stands right now, and because my family wants to celebrate this xmas thing, I really can't afford new ones.

So I'm really looking for some gehtto solutions. Ya know like pantyhose and coathanger pop-filters etc?

Anyone????
I have some really horrible gear!!!

Not really a DIY solution, but a cheap approach is to buy drum mic clips and then attach them to furniture.

cup hooks on the ceiling, wire coat hangers and zip ties - should be able to cobble something together from that...

Yer drum player got any old cymbal stands that he/she doesn't use? Those along with some gaff to hold a clip have worked for me in a pinch...
I thought this club was for musicians. Who let the drummer in here??
