where to buy rubber bands for old reel to reels(rewind)

Post by charles bronson » Wed Dec 07, 2005 5:57 am

the rubber band that engaged the rewind function on my early 60s
webcor regent reel to reel gave out on me yesterday. i'm wondering
if there are resources available that would enable me to buy replacements
for this thing(seemingly unlikely). Or are there any handy substitutions/
rig jobs that could work as well.

any input ya'll.

much appreciated,

mark

Try a google search under the model name, there is probably somebody out there that stocks them.
I recently found a band set for my Tascam Porta One cassette recorder that way, forgot who it was from though.
my band: Mission 5

PRB (Projector Recorder Belt) is pretty much the Last Man Standing for these items, and is now owned by Russell Industries:

I have an old paper catalog with belt cross references if you can't find anything at the website, but I would need an exact model number.

if this option doesn't work out for me then anyone know of any
handy/ingenious ways of "rigging" this thing.
