Going mobile need your opinion

Post by dougo » Thu Dec 08, 2005 7:14 pm

What is the scoop with needing a 7200 rpm hard drive while recording? With a slower drive will it limit the amount of tracks I can record live? I am thinking in the context of a mobile rig.

Would love to run a mac powerbook with my Metric Halo 2882 for mobile recording gigs.

Thanks for some input on this matter,
dougo

I would recommend the fastest drive you can afford. I have found a very noticeable performance increase when going from 5400 to 7200. I don't think 10k drives are made in 2.5" format.

Thanks for the fast response. I never used a slower drive before so I was curious. Looks like I will be in the market for a powerbook then.

Thanks again,
