sm 58 question?

Post by tweedclassic » Thu Dec 08, 2005 3:55 pm

i am hoping somone has seen the inside of a sm58 i got one donated to me from a friend who broke it. so i took it apart low and behold the the
"XLR pin jack?" was disconnected from the wires inside there is a red and a blue wire just hanging out not doing there jobs (hey get back to work)lol
pin 1 is obviously the ground so that leaves 2 and 3
so which wire goes to which pin?

thanks for the help

it would be nice to fix it that means a free sm58 for me :!:

just reconnect them - worse comes to worse its out of phase. You should be able to correct that anyway if its a problem.

Can't recall ever opening one at the connector, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that it's red for positive and blue for negative. (That would be red to pin 2 and blue to pin 3.)
I'll try to remember to check one out tomorrow at school.
