PM 1000 HELP question

Post by r0ck1r0ck2 » Sun Dec 11, 2005 10:51 pm

when will they end i wonder...

ok...

i've looked at countless threads on prodigy/tapeop/gearslutz

and quite a few web pages devoted to racking these buggers...

i basically followed Scodiddly's job plan here..

took the yellow wire off the back of the hi-pass/mid-freq board and ran that to the echo2 pot now rewired so that it is the main out..
as seen on this thread
http://www.prodigy-pro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10553

i have just a butt load of rf interference...i listened to the packers game...
tried tying all the disperate parts together for grounding....still no let up in packers coverage...

it does pass signal....but just barely....

so i ditched the diode chain and adjusted the powerone supply so that it ran at 44vdc...
racked a seperate pm1000 strip...
same thing...
this is something simple i'm sure...but i can't figure it out...
please take it easy on me as i'm a complete fookup

thanks for all the help...

why don't you take the pot that's connected to the fader and use that as the main output volume control? then you don't have to rewire anything. just take your output from C37 (the brown wire connected to the pan pot).

Took the output from "BO" the pin just agacent(sp?) to c37....
but i don't know if that'll help the RF?
maybe...
i try it...
i thanks you

the results are that my knowledge is ever soo lean...
however...knowing this i've run threw it from the start..
baaad connection at input...
well there's that...
i should say i'm waiting on parts as digikey gives me a headache...
i've pilfered parts from around the house for xlrs...i pilfered the module for wire..

it's worse than ordering comic books...
you're all nerds..

my soldering iron is a noise maker...
buzzzzzzzz
slowly i am isolating the bug...i can now hear the mic clearly...
thanks again..

i didn't have a chassis as such....so it wasn't properly grounded to the chassis..
and as i pilfered the parts for everything tonite...well it was touch and go for a while...
well it works now....still a fair amount of RF when the eq's are cranked....but that's my house...

my skylark...and in fact many of my instruments/and recordings have
local news...tonight as i worked the packer game had finished and a local host was discussing foreclosure (sp?) somewhat apt to the studio community no?
how to retire succesfully(sp?) that sort of thing
went to commercial and it was for the local Native casio...gambling..hmmm
when came back from break it was with the sounds of "I've Been Thinking About You" <---INXS?

so if and when i get a proper case together it should take care of many of these problems....?
proper wiring/grounding will take care of most of the interference?(sp?)
a seperate power supply would use a 3 Cable wire? split the ground to the module chassis and the module board?

i can see how the eq points are strange...
i can imagine how this could benefit from a Re-Cap...given the descriptions of the benefits that it will provide...

thanks for the help...
now to conquer Mouser

Hey bjoihawk,

Is there any difference between taking the out from the brown wire by the pan pot like you said (C37) and just connecting a wire to the negative leg of C37 on the PCB?

Because that's what I've been doing. (I'm using that to drive an output transformer before the XLR.)
