I remember seeing an interview with Stephen Street where he said that the mix of song 2 was almost all bass and most of Grahams guitar was cut out. Don't know if that means anything to you...

AH. Sweet. There sounds like there is a guitar that just drones an E or something, too.

One of these days I'm gonna grow a pair and call up my local radio station and go:

"Yeah, I wanna hear WOOOO HOOOO!!!"
"Huh?"
"WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!"
"Do you mean Song 2 by Blur?"
"No, WOOOO HOOOOO!!!"

Great song.

Someone once left a fart on my voicemail - sounded identical to that song.. Just add 'Woohoo' with some prepubescent girl singer and you got it!

i remember hearing back in the day that the guitar chain (or bass chain, whatever) was actually two rats in sequence.

Definitely "or something". An E drone on that song would probably create dissonance.

Maybe check his amp choice? bass? I've seen them play it once up close, but I was stage right watching Graham.

I think Alex is a pretty good player. I've tried to do that slide he does back and forth twice from F to G# on the top string and I can't. Too fast.
