placing monitors on top of the console

Post by supafuzz » Sat Jan 14, 2006 5:37 am

revamping zeroville to make room for the new board

instead of 2 tier metro shelving on wheels I'm changing to 1 level
right now the monitors are on the 2nd shelf above the mixer.

[so it'll be a rolling table..72" wide by 24" deep not sure of the height yet but it's adjustable]

the monitors will have to be up against the front wall
on top of the console

have no other choices space wise here
as the board is over 6 inches deeper than what I have now

going to put a trap on the front wall behind the monitors and on the ceiling above

back wall has windows with heavy black velvet curtains [black velvet sounds best..ha ha]

would it make more sense to put a shelf on the front wall [using all the special decoupling hardware or to sit it on the console using mo-pads or some such decoupling device [I actually found these silicone half round rubber feet that I used on my turntable to finally get it to stop jumping whenever i walked across the room and may use those instead of the foam--tey're $20 for 4 ouch but they work!]

thanks in advance
