Borrowed gear and I love it

Post by xSALx » Thu Jan 12, 2006 10:02 pm

So I borrowed gear from a fellow tapeoper to record my friends band, so I took advantage and recorded some of my own stuff today. Acoustic guitar recorded with Groove Tubes GT33 and Blue Baby Bottle through Millenia dual tube pre. Vocals are done with Nady Ribbon to Millenia solid state pre into Pro VLA; all into Motu mkII. And ironically, I had to mic a casio keyboard with the Baby Bottle because the keyboard out was so noisy, but it sounds good. Do you guys have any advice?

Yeah, you better eat those bananas soon or they'll go bad.

Oh and be careful not too fall too far in love with the gear before you know you'll have enough cash to buy new toys AND still pay rent.

And for heavens sake, put some socks on! Guess we will have to add that to our sign - No smoking - socks required.

Most condensers sound better if your wearing acustic modifications on your feet.

But I can't perform with socks on, it constricts my artistic abilities.

socks make a huge differance on performance...
maybe try some house shoes...
personally i like a really expensive pair of dress socks....
something with a garter....

it really juices up the mood....

and it never hurts to go "alfresco" as mixerman put it...
you never worry about your feet again...
you'll have other things to worry about...

I know this is meant to be sarcastic; but how sarcastic are you being? Do you like the way it sounds? I kinda can't understand in what sense.
