[like others in this thread] since they change every second, this second it's:

chris whitley: soft dangerous shores - still sad from his passing. even with the deep dark (& fantastic) arrangements on this record, the guy is still bare-bones human. rest in peace, friend.

talk talk: spirit of eden - you said it, votemiles! love the phill brown. did i say deep and dark above? now *this* is deep and dark. check out laughing stock too, 2 whole tracks of drums!! (google tim friese-greene for more info).

genesis: selling england by the pound - great writing, great recording, each individual is well-featured.

oh shit, NEXT second!

Thanks. I've been meaning to bet that record ever since it came out. Now I know what I'm getting myself for x-mas.

Incubus - S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (clean clean clean)
311 - Transistor (k i may be swayed a little on that one because it's my favorite album ever)
The Allman Brothers - Life at Fillmore East (that recording really captured the environment well, best live recording that I know of)

I love signal flow.

Imagine the possibilities!

1. Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy
2. Weezer - Blue Album
3. Webb Wilder - Town & Country

honorable mention goes to:

Sandy Nelson - Let There Be Drums

in no particular order and if you ask me again in 5 minutes it will probably be different.

You know what Teatro means? I heard it was Spanish?(or something) for torture
theatre!

willie doesnt torture.

my bloody valentine - loveless - i dont have a favorite book or movie, but this is my all time favorite record. period.

U2 - the joshua tree - brian eno is god! i guess that makes lanois buddah?

the cure - kiss me, kiss me, kiss me / the rolling stones - exile on main street - both records are double albums recorded in france - both bands favorite records of mine, due in part to the diversity in terms of style. it seems like they both went in and just recorded "songs", not worrying about making an album necessarily. just getting toasted and creating great songs.
