Hey. I've been reading TapeOp for about a year or so and just joined TOMB.
My brother and I have completed preproduction work for our CD using ProTools LE and a Digi002. We've tracked 16 songs and look to record 12 of them in a studio.
We're hoping to track, mix, and master in about 12 days or so. Average song length is 3.5 minutes and average number of tracks is 7 plus drums.
Can you recommend any studio in the 250 to 300 a day range that's located here in the SF Bay Area? We would need for this to include an engineer. Ideally the engineer would also have good producer ears as well, since we would have to forgo hiring a producer due to budgetary constraints. A lot to ask for, I know!
We like Tiny Telephone, but can't really afford them right now, and digital is just as good as analog for our music. We play singer-songwriter, pop indie rock and are looking to land a deal with a major indie label sometime this year.
We'd appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks.[/b]

I know the perfect guy for you. He engineered the tracking phase of my record at Tiny Telephone, and then we went to his studio for overdubs/mixing. His price is right in your range, and he's a great guy to work with.
PM me if you want details.

Hello,
I have a few options to recommend...
1. http://www.WestonHouseRecording.com Come record at my tiny studio in my small home in Sacramento. I'll lock-out the studio for 12 days. Of course you'll stay with me, so bring your sleeping bags for some livingroom floor camping! Price? $2k.
2. http://www.liveoakstudio.com James is the engineer there... Tell him Weston in Sacramento sent ya!
3. http://www.trakworx.com Justin is the owner/engineer there... Tell him Weston in Sacramento sent ya!
