I have the same problem with the room I will be moving into. My plan for it will be to use a combination of the some of the suggestions above. Above the door and across the ceiling corner I will put a substantial trapping and do the same on the opposite side.
On the back of the door I will hang a 2" door shaped absorber and do the same on the other side. If you leave a gap of about 6" you can put a panel on the wall adjacent to the opening side of the door too. I know it's not optimal as far as effeciency or neatness, but it seems like a reasonable compromise.
In between will be a futon, shelving and possible some home made diffusors.
Like someone said above, you can put lots of trapping on the wall / ceiling corners irrespective of doors below. I am thinking of putting 1 foot of absorbers all along the floor / wall corner behind the desk and monitors as this area is wasted anyway. I can even run cabling behind it, if I want.
how to deal with a corner door?
