Well I satnd corrected! Sorry about that, I remember reading a lengthy history of guitar amp circuits and I thought that's how it went, I googled around for a bit trying to find it, but no luck. Sorry for the disinfo and thanks for setting me straight!

No need. Judging by your post, I feel my message may have sounded athouritative and correctionary (is that a word?). Sorry. That's the hard thing about boards like this... no sense of how emotion is to be taken. :o

gah someone hates the tube screamer?

i'm no guitar snob but that pedal is my go to distortion... it can sound really really nice complimenting an already somewhat driven amp...
