Help me please...

Post by operator_tape » Tue Jan 03, 2006 5:27 pm

Is anyine tracking with the Emu 1820M I really need to know because I got a not so bad offer for it today, and would like any tape-opers opinions, Does the drivers handle well, and does anyone use it to track bands? Thanks for any help, I read the converters are the new AKM but at that price the clock must be shitty, anyways thanks

its not just the converter chips its all the stuff around them and the power you supply it too..I wish I could give you an opinion but I can't..I can give you this advice though: patience is a virtue..wait if you can to find out if it will work for you..

or buy it try it and sell it if you don't like it..

I certainly did not..I said those things contribute to the sound quality of converter devices in general..

i think he said exactly what he said. (and it was good advice)

as for the drivers, the last version produced major improvements in stability

the converters are great but the pres are terrible. i had heard that the clock was designed by an ex apogee guy but i don't know how much that means.

bottom line, you can make great recordings with this IF!!!! your source is miced correctly with a mic and pre that work well together for what you are trying to do.
