Anybody deal with Fuzzorama in Berkeley?
Anybody deal with Fuzzorama in Berkeley?
www.fuzzorama.com
I've emailed them about 4 times, from both my aol and yahoo email.
No reply at all. I'm interested in having an echoplex repaired/serviced.
I wonder what the deal is?

I clicked the "buy me" link on one of his products, and instead of a secure site, it brought up outlook express. Unless you know the proprietor, or get some kind of referral, I'd go somewhere else.

Yeah,
Well, I thought the website was really quite informative and cool. And it looks like he actually does quite a bit when servicing them (Like, not just replacing the spark plugs)
Still, I'm not convinced that I can't do most of the servicing myself. I can replace the caps. It's the transport stuff that I'm wondering about. Where to lube. Where to find lube to lube with. How to find rubber parts. Just thought I'd see how much it cost first.
But I'll likely go somewhere else or just dig in and do this stuff myself.
Thanks guys.

I e-mailed him months ago and got a response right away. I had an echo I wanted to send him for servicing but never got around to it.
That site has been around for a couple years. Sounds like repairing gear is a side gig for him. He may just be busy with other things.
Post if you get ahold of him. I'd still like to get that echo tuned up.

Kurt seems to be a little flaky about getting back to people, but he's come through for me a couple times. I bought some Space Echo tape loops from him, and before I could use them he sent out an email saying he had used unreliable tape, and was sending all his customers replacement loops for free. They're good loops, the Echo sounds nice.
I've bought tape loops from him. I emailed him last year about gettting a space echo worked on. He quoted me around $400 for a tune-up. I downloaded the service docs and passed on the offer.
here are the service docs if anyones interested.
