Calrec DF 1625s

Just scored a pair of these on Ebay.Any info on them is most appreciated.........

I've never used the units you mention, but all the calrec stuff I've used in the past has been freaking awesome. I'd put it in the Neve class of goodness - or at least very, very close to it.
I would say that you just scored some great gear.

I'm not sure about the 1625s, but I have a pair of DL1656s (from the same era/series) racked up following a pair of 1253-8 preamp/EQs (also from the same era/series) and they totally kick ass. I opened them up once and they were full of ICs but they sound huge and punchy to me. They go from nicely clean to total crushers and do both well. IIRC, they have a transformer on the output but not the input. Could be wrong, though. I'm still puzzled by the Lego...
David Runton (from this board) racked them for me and did one of the nicest, most professional jobs I've seen.
