Question about connecting my RNLA.....

Post by Recycled_Brains » Sat Feb 11, 2006 1:43 pm

hey i got my FMR RNLA today, and since i've never owned any outboard compressors, or used any without a patch bay, i have a question about connecting it....

can i connect it somehow using the 'insert' TRS jacks on the MBox? if so, how?

or is going out of the MBox 'out', into the RNLA 'in', and then out of the RNLA into the 'input' of the MBox the best way?

if doing the latter, the manual says that a "standard 1/4" plug is fine (to connect the Mbox 'out' to the RNLA 'in'), so i assume this means any instrument and/or speaker cable?

going on what the manual says, this seems to be the best option, but i'm concerned about feedback problems.

any help would be appreciated.

I guess either way would be fine. But using an "insert cable" in the inserts, would require less cables! I would try both ways if possible and see which works best for you application!...... 8)

just a trs cable from the each mbox insert to each rnla combo in/out should be fine.

If the RNLA insert jack is wired like the RNC insert, a single TRS cable is all you need. They invert the wiring on the tip and ring to accomplish this.
