If anyone's interested, Musicians Fiend is selling an AKG c4000B + c1000s bundle for 500 bucks!! The c4000b alone seems to be selling for the same price or more! seems like a sweet deal, thought i'd let you know.

also, BSW has a deal pairing the c1000s with the c3000b for 300, which also seems like an awesome deal.

wow, it's been a while since i had the chance to rip on that mic. thanks.
I love that mic, even though it hasn't left the locker for about a year. It was my first condenser, so I guess I'm partial to the little engine that could.
Be kind to my memories, there fading fast......

My C3000B is going on ebay next weekend. It was my first LDC and I never really liked it from the get go.
I also have a Rode NT3, which is very similar to the C1000. IIRC the freq response starts to drop off around 150Hz which is good for filtering out the mud on guitars but can also sound thin on other things like drum oh's.

my band: Mission 5
My first condensor was almost C3000B until I decided that maybe 2 57s would be more useful. Man I'm happy that ended up to being the right choice. I later tried the C3000 and absolutely hated it.rolandk wrote:My C3000B is going on ebay next weekend. It was my first LDC and I never really liked it from the get go.
