i got my 46 today...and it is nice. nice case, nice case inside the case
(except that once you unzip the interior case, it seems almost impossible to
zip up again, mostly because of the yolk), really nice looking mic.
i used it today on a vocal for my cover of the week...it was a bit noisy with
the RNLA added but when i bypassed it, most of the noise went too.
the vocal i did with it stands out in the mix right away without any panning or
eq. i'm going to try it on acoustic tomorrow. very cool so far.

wow. i just got my 23L from Shiny Box. i am stunned. really.
i've been using an SM7 for close vocals but this thing beats it down.
more defined "real" sounding hi's AND low's and talk about sitting
in the mix...the only thing you need for this mic is a nice pre.
i think i prefer the 46 for acoustic guitar sounds...but now i have both!
have yet to try them together...and for drum OHs! i'm stoked.
thanks Shiny Box! they cannot be beat for the price.

well i now have the stock 46 and the 46cinemag
haven't had a chance to use in session yet, but the 46C certainly appears to have less proximity effet and more top end.
i'll probably keep using the stock 46 on bright acoustic guitars, bright amps and as drum overheads (as well as bitey female vocals) but the 46C promises so many more opportunities than that!
now thats a shiny box!!!!
chris.

just got a 46c about two and a half weeks ago. so far i've used it on acoustic guitar and as a room mic for some metal drums. thing is awesome. took me a little experimenting with the placement at first with the guitar, but love the sound. for the $$ i couldn't ask for a better mic. really can't wait to try it out on electric guitar and vocals.
