Tobybear Minihost hardware related question

Since this question revolves around getting sound out of my laptop, I thought it would belong here. What is everyone using to get sound out of the computer and into mixing boards/amplifiers? I can recall someone talking about running M-tron sounds through a guitar amp. Any suggestions would be a very big help. Thanks in advance.
