I'll add

Art MP - I have a dual and a single tabletop one. Love it on overheads sometimes. Good Bass DI. Great DI for acoustic guitars, use it in my live rig. $45 single channel

I'll second the CAD M-179! got one for $139 a while back.

Oktava MK-012 - Awsome if you only paid $99!

ATM25 - super cool mic for $130ish

I think my whole studio is this kind of stuff. Maybe I'm just overly appreciative of what I have.

SONAR + MOTU 828mkII + Behringer ADA80000. Overall a pretty cheap rig that has done me pretty well. I never really think the limit is my medium.

Fender Mexican Telecasters. You have to play a crapload of them but the good ones are good... and still $350.

Oktava MC-012. I got them for $99 each.

ATM25.

ART ProVLA. My only working hardware compressor but it makes nice witht hing I put through it. I think I picked it up without a box for $180.

MK319. I got a pair for $80. One is dead... I should look into fixing that.

Fender Pro, Jr. (US$150-350): You can, with a few pedals and/or plug-ins, make it sound as good an amp as any you use to record.

Fernandes Sustainer guitar (US$250, used): a great-looking import guitar, smooth playing, flexible, with a built-in ebow/feedback effect; mine is S-S-H with a useable whammy.

Rat 2 pedal (<US$50, used): indestructable and flexible.

Ibanez TS-5 "Soundtank" (US$35, used): the cheapest version of the infamous green overdrive pedal.

Zoom GM-200 (US$50, discontinued): an analog "modeler" that actually has a few convincing, usefull sounds.

Another vote for my favorite bass "effect", the dbx163X compressor.
Cool Edit Pro: I don't know Audition, but I've seen the old 2.1 for US$100 on Ebay, and it does everything I want it to do in my bedroom studio, except sex.
