wireless doorbells

Post by the riff » Fri Apr 21, 2006 6:27 pm

I'm looking to get a wireless doorbell for the studio. I was wondering if they make something where in case I was tracking that I could switch the doorbell to a flashing light mode? Anything like this? Thanks.

A diy? A toggle switch and a led or light bulb?

Sounds like a good project to try. :^:

By golly, I'm a gonna do that.
I'm old, tired, busted, impatient and my feet hurt that's why I sit all the time. Deal with it and hand me that remote while you're close.

I was (insomniac that I can be) thinking about this very thing late last night/early this morning.

DIY it is, then! Rah rah rah!

At one point I thought a lot about this. Do a google on strobe doorbell. They sell them, though DIY is probably a much cheaper (and more customizable) solution.

In a previous apartment, we got a wireless doorbell. But people kept stealing the batteries. And someone across the street had the same one and I guess they're all on the same frequencies, so the bell would ring and it wouldn't be for us.

There seem to be some priced around $50 which works for me. The only problem I'm seeing is that they don't state wether you can switch it from doorbell to strobe mode...? :?
