I would say your money would be best spent creating a space that people are comfortable both tracking and mixing in. The best upgrade to my studio lately was a monitor/keyboard and mouse feed to my lounge so bands can hang out and drink beer while we listen back to live takes or do editing. Assuming you're not working in a fancypants place I would say to focus on diversity.
