do spammers read tapeop?

Post by Mr. Dipity » Tue Aug 29, 2006 1:33 pm

Kind time of day boys,

I understood that you needed your subscription id in order to join this board.

If this, IMO rather mistaken, policy has been lifted, then a few illiterate foreign conmen is a small price to pay, if we could get someone to delete their posts. However, I am concerned that there might be a few of our colleagues that, due to either geographical or more logistical issues, aren't receiving tapeop and have been bared from here. I know of a few myself.

In that case, if the spammers are getting through, but they aren't, it would be a bit of a shame.

The needing a subscription to join TOMB policy was never implemented. I just created myself a second account to verify this.

Nah. It was implemented. I can only assume it was removed.

Well, then existing users got grandfathered in, as I never had to put any of my subsciption information into TOMB.

Needing a sub was only an idea to control the BS on the old board. Seems to be working well now with the forums this way, there's steps in plac to get rid of the spammers. Always report spam and we will delete it.
