analog studios in rocky mountain area?

Post by radiantbrian » Sat Aug 30, 2003 3:49 pm

i'm looking for a 'reasonably priced' (no more than $400/day) analog studio (preferably 2" 16/24 tracking and 1/2" mixing) in the denver area or in nearby cities/states. any links to websites or any other info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

the sleeper analog denver studio is Audio Park (maybe Park Audio). it is in the yellow pages. he is the guy who mastered the neutral milk hotel record. he has tape, and a neve desk (i think). the most interesting thing is he is blind.
there is a place outside idaho springs called Mountain Sound (i think) he runs an add in the westword. he has astuder deck and studer desk, but he is a total 80s butt rock engineer, which if you want go for it, i would suggest a different engineer.
my friend todd is a freelance guy out there here is his # 720-434-5056
(tell him kerry sent you) he may know some other places as well.

if you have more problems email me.

i've heard of that 'mountain sound' place. i thought the same thing: cool looking place, but the guy probably wouldn't wanna deal with a 'post-punk' band.

the other places/people sound promising though, i'll look into them. thanks for your help.

how about the blasting room in fort collins? 70 miles north of denver, theyve got an otari 24 track, ssl, tons of gear, and theyre very open to bands of the punk and post punk genre. i think their rates are around there as well, although i dont remember.
