The coolest record store in the world, CD Alley in Chapel Hill, NC carries TapeOp regularly.

And they do research requests for music!

I had never heard of TapeOp until I found it at the B&N in Bethesda. However, that was a couple of years ago, and since I now have a subscription I haven't really looked for it in bookstores.

Sounds like a fun day job, better than a lot of jobs at any rate...

Anyone know where to find Tape Op in Los Angeles? I'm flying this weekend and need something to read.

Thanks

The Sound Garden in Syracuse, NY has them. It's on Walton St. in Armory Square.

In Boston, the Production and Engineering office at Berklee used to have them in addition to other recording mags. I remember being sent down to the studio office as well.

You can get it at Carbon Computing in their Sound and Picture department. Queen St. east of Broadview. They usually stock back issues too.
