We've added a bunch of new things, changed some old things and gave it a new look! We are also now a fully moderated board, with the intent that things stay on topic to the forum they are posted in.
Other than TapeOpHillary and TapeOpLarry, the *NEW MODERATORS* are:
TapeOpCraig (for TapeOpCon), drumsound (tony), cgarges (chris), joel hamilton, and soundguy (dave).
*THE OLD FORUMS* have been archived and are now read-only. They are searchable when you use the board's search engine but no new posts can be added to them.
*NEW MODIFICATIONS* include:
1. remote avatar resizing. eliminates column resizing when users can't follow the "limit to 60x60 pixels" instruction.
2. topics are printer-friendly.
3. global announcements.
4. view posts since last visit *number*. see just how many posts are new.
5. keep unread posts unread. now we won't be missing anything.
6. moderators can merge topics.
7. members can report specific posts to moderators.
8. sorting topics by author, date, or most recent.
There's some other behind-the-scenes stuff to that will make it a little easier on everyone as well!
Please take a little time to re-acquaint yourself with the new forums before posting. We also ask everyone to read our MISSION STATEMENT and POSTING RULES before joining the party.
The only bad news is that we have unfortunately lost data from February-June 2005. The database first got corrupted, then later, hacked. We are unable to retrieve that data. Sorry! This includes members registered, posts/threads created, private messages, etc after the middle of Feb 2005. All members maintain their post count from February...
So...if you had registered in February 2005 or later, YOU WILL NEED TO RE-REGISTER.
Please keep stuff on-topic, we know some of you will miss the Off-Topic forum, however, there are loads of other places to unload on the web. We hope you'll understand!
As always, you can email email@example.com if you're having a problem or a concern. There's also a forum for board-related matters that you can use.
