Re: PM1000 mixers Yamana and Aphex

Afraid not.
The PM1000 uses all discrete components (not op-amps) and uses inductors in the EQ circuit. It also runs on a +44V rail. not true for the M916 or M1516a.
They are NOT the same as the PM1000 by any means (except for bearing the Yamaha name)
good luck on the sale.
Listen,
I don't believe in criticizing others' posts when they are selling things, caveat emptor and all, but I have strong feelings towards the community of this board and the principles most members tend to share. I treat most here as friends and business associates whom I haven't yet met, and as such feel some responsibility toward their well being. By no means am I criticizing or complimenting what you are selling, but your comparisons are erroneous.
It is misleading for you or anyone to make such strong comparisons of very desirable gear (PM 1000) to that which may have a similar name or simlar chassis, but VERY different design and form. If you aren't aware of the differences, then find out and change your post to accurately reflect what you are selling (the m916 is not discrete).
I want you to be able to sell whatever you want to whomever will purchase it, without interference, but not under false pretenses. If I were selling a "Vintage Cobra - V8 Carroll Shelby" and was pawning this car
would that be fair?
This isn't my message board, so I defer to others on what is permissable, but I would not want to see the kind of hucksterism so common on ebay to find its way here. The way people look out for one another here benefits us all.
Regards,
H

As one of the relatively technically ignorant folks here, to me this statement (and the original, since edited title for the ad) is the misrepresentation:
That statement, which has since been strongly disputed, was enough to make me seriously consider contacting you about purchasing one of these mixers. As you might expect, my interest has waned.
Your subsequent statement seems to indicate what you meant by "the same mixer":
I am grateful to those who chimed in and pointed the technical details out to the rest of the community here.

The mixers may represent good values on their own merits as you state, but to make such a statement while ignorant of the true technical details seems like a misrepresentation to me.gretchkit wrote:the M1516a does in fact look like a PM1000 but it has more EQ options and routing - it's as big, lots of similarities
did they change the inside, yes they did
