mac equiv. of fruity loops?
mac equiv. of fruity loops?
I love my Fruity Loops, always have it with a little half-n-half to start the day. But there is no mac support.
What else is there in the world of step programable beat sequencers for mac?

Re: mac equiv. of fruity loops?
I was looking for a Mac version myself a few months ago and found my answer on the old Fruity Loops site. Basically, it said if you are using a Mac "Fuck you and die" and that it will NEVER be produced for Mac. Hehehe...I use it on my PC, then export it as a stereo track to use on DP.

I've never used fruity loops. But if you're looking for a simple program for loops and samples, Reason works great. It's quick and simple. Also... if you're going to be working in osx, there is a website called osxaudio.com that describes and has links to a lot of audio programs, and many of them are free.

yeah, reason is really cool...PLUS you get to flip the "gear" over and move cables around...*love* that...

Yeah, that's my favorite part of that program. The routing totally makes sense to me.

Re: mac equiv. of fruity loops?
i had an old version of reason that lacked the flipping feature. thought it was a great idea tho.
i'm gonna be using ableton live, so maybe i'll just feed the loops out of my pc and into ableton on the iBook.
i don't even have an ibook yet, but i wanna know what i'm getting into.
don't like the idea of windows crashing on me live, so moving over to osx
on a notebook sounds better. now it's just a matter of finding the right replacment ofr fruity loops.
somehow i like the idea of kicking it on the couch or at the cafe pushing beatz around. sitting at the desktop gets old, i do that all day at work!

Re: mac equiv. of fruity loops?
He's a questions. What makes you think that a PC would be more likely to crash? I have XP, and it has crashed maybe once in 2 years.
Re: mac equiv. of fruity loops?
There is crashing, then there is freezing up. Both are unacceptable when you have a few hundred people watching you. I have had my home PC running XP Pro crashes on me a lot more than 2 times in just the last month, and thats after many improvments to stabilize it. I think I could get it to be as worry free as OSX, but then hardware comes into the equation. Apple makes dope laptops. PC's laptops are all over the board.
Even still, I envy the machine running OSX that sits in the corner even though it runs at less than a third of the clockspeed as my PC w/ XP. That has me thinking even more.
arg,,,,, Ya see, Apple is the tart you always wanted to go out with but your not sure if you wanna leave the safety of your current relationship to the PC Software!!!
Lord, is it really that hard?

Re: mac equiv. of fruity loops?
There really is no exact replacement for fruityloops on mac, that I have found anyway, Reason is probably the most Fruity-like thing i've seen for mac. You can definitely find something as, or more powerful for dance/hip-hop production in the form of reason/logic/DP etc...
