I think it took about 6 or 8 weeks before I got my first issue.

yeah, it always takes a while to get the first one. sometimes you miss an issue (or two) cuz it's one guy doing all that stuff (john)...and he's got a life outside of tape op too! ha-what's that?
Re: Tape Op, where are you?
Crap, I moved in March and missed the latest issue and will probably miss the next one too!!
How does one survive a time like this. I need to hit up some magazine stores around town. Anyone know where TapeOp sells in or around Atlanta, speak up damnit, this is serious business!!

The place I always get it when my subscription fails (which happens to me a lot for some reason) is Criminal Records in Little Five Points. I think Borders (at least the one on Ponce) carries it as well.

I hear ya loud and clear, brother. I was born and raised in NC and have relatives that live in Fayetteville, GA, so I'm totally down with y'all. Grits and cornbread all the way!

Whatchyou know about grits and cornbread, Son down here you get breakfast, lunch and dinner with a side of grits, hell sometimes it's the maincourse with a side of grits. And no, you don't put sugar in them (not meant for you Mark, just the other folks who may be clueless about grits and their proper state of being eaten). A little salt & pepper is fine, but no sugar.
It's almost the weekend, please god of the weekend, hurry the hell up

i'm pretty sure you'd have to get a paid international subscription.tactics wrote:I've never read one ever.I'm in Australia, where can i get a copy?
i don't think (but i could be mistaken) that there's no distribution in stores anywhere outside of US & canada...sorry!

Re: Tape Op, where are you?
One of my favorite Army stories is from when I was at jump school at Ft. Benning, GA. I had just come from basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, where apparently grits as food art is not taken seriously... Anyway, breakfast at the Ft. Benning chow hall kicked ASS - very greasy, meaty, and southern. My buddy Steve, a Mormon from Utah, and I sat down at a table with two black soldiers. I had my buttered, salted and peppered grits on my plate along with my eggs and bacon and slopped them all together. My buddy had his grits in a bowl and started to pour milk and sugar on them. One of the black guys at the table stopped eating, stared for a few seconds, then said, in a deep south drawl, "Boy, you ain't never ate grits, have you?"cbcmusic wrote:Whatchyou know about grits and cornbread, Son down here you get breakfast, lunch and dinner with a side of grits, hell sometimes it's the maincourse with a side of grits.
