Any amateurs and projects studio people interested in meeting once a month to talk shop, build equipment, and invite manufacturers' reps to speak/demo gear? Maybe even do our own version of "charitable recording?"

Trying to Get the Group Started
Where are you located, and where would you like to meet?
I live in Bethesda, and we could meet at my place initially; we also have a small community clubhouse if we outgrown my small living room. We could also decide to round-robin host the meetings.
Would once a month be too much?

I don't think it ever happened. I emailed the original poster some time ago and he told me, if I recall correctly, that he was trying to get something together but hasn't been able to make it happen yet.
I'd be into some sort of meetup, too. Even if it were just two or three Tape Op'ers meeting over coffee.

Someone's gotta throw out a place and time or it's never going to happen.
What about some place in Arlington? Wouldn't that be semi-central? Or maybe Chuck's? Everyone knows where it is and it's about as far from Baltimore as it is from Chantilly.
Actually, I'm probably the only Virginian to post on this thread so far, right?
Ok, here's my proposal:
Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center, Monday June 9th at 7:30pm
Please counter-propose if you desire. I'm booked all this week, though.

If it's in VA, i am out. Too friggin' far.
Maybe if you do it in between DC and Baltimore you might get a larger crowd. I know there are a ton of engineers here in Baltimore.
Just sucks as there's not much in the middle of DC and Bmore except for layers and layers of subburbs... doubtfully any cool bars...
Or we could alternate between DC and Baltimore...

Cant make monday either.
If you all wanted, we could also host it at my studio. I'd be more than happy.
