#tape-op on freenode

#tape-op on freenode

Post by rwc » Sun Jun 15, 2008 11:47 am

for those not familiar with IRC - internet relay chat.

For those familiar with IRC, if you go to irc.freenode.net and join #tape-op, you'll find a channel I created.. I was curious if there'd be any interest in something like this. realtime chat with other lunatics.

If you're new to IRC, for windows, there's mIRC. http://www.mirc.com/ type /server irc.freenode.net, then /join #tape-op. For macs, there's this.. I've never used it. http://colloquy.info/

is this thing still used?

there should REALLY be a decent recording arts IRC. the reaper IRC is the closest I've come. It would be nice to talk about other things (like pro tools) without getting the cold shoulder though.

Is there any interest in this? is it that hard for like, 10 people to keep an IRC window open at all times? it might sound like a lot to ask, but it's really quite nice once you bite the bullet and keep the IRC open...
