Pot Cleaner
Pot Cleaner
Sorry if this has been discussed before. I searched and couldn't really find anything. What is needed to clean pots and faders, and how do you do it? Thanks for the help, I'm a total newb at console maintenance.

Caig Deoxit spray for cleaning pots is my standard. Stabillant (spelling?) is excellent for switches and such. Both products...a little goes a long way. Cleaning pots, switches, and faders is very good but keep in mind too that sometimes you need to replace the components!
Good luck,
Tom

I usually get the Deoxit D5. (#D5S-6)

If you have a Guitar Center around, check with them and see if they carry Deoxit. The GC by me now carries Deoxit and they sell it for around $11 per can. (at least this is what I was told)

Frampton Comes Alive is the standard but I think any Head East LP will work just as well.Jerry_Pbury wrote:Album Cover?
Sorry couldn't resist. Guess that dates me back to the 60's eh.

A friend of mine swears by Molly Hatchet but I've never noticed any improvement.
Check out my website for cool songs recorded and played by me with Steve Goulding of the Mekons on drums. Drums were recorded by our own Joel H at Studio G.
