This forum is for talking about gear.
Feel free to post about something you have found, or ask about something you think might be cool, or good or bad or a ripoff...
Any era, or type of gear used in the recording of sound is welcome here.
Please use the search engine before posting the 300 millionth "best mic pre for under 30 dollars" type of thing. (then post it anyway because the ones you find dont specifically mention the thingy you wanted to ask about). [sarcasm]
EDIT: PLEASE POST ANYTHING TO DO WITH COMPUTERS IN THE COMPUTER FORUM. Example: "How are the new mac's?" OR: "Is Protools good?"
Hardware is cool in "gear talk" but not software or COMPUTER questions... (DUH).
Please post suggestions on making this forum better in this thread as well.

We need a "compressors Anonymous " section for us addicts. Joe Chicarelli once said "compressors are like drugs. You can't get enough.....until you got to much."

I second that emotion!
Client: I think there's too much compression.
Me: First, there's no such thing as too much compression, but since you feel that way, I'll go ahead and compress it some more.

What is the compressor that cost you a small amount but you could not live without?

Also what are your impressions of the Crane Song Egret? I got to use one yesterday in a summing bus evaluation and found it to sound very, very nice and clean! In that same vain how do some of you have your summing work flow setup?

If you not able to stop your compressing every time then may be its not compatible with you computer or May be with Operating System so you can try out other compressing software.
