Wheels
c. '10 The Friday Project
4
When I go out walkin' alls I think about is
how bad it feels
When I get to talkin' about it I wanna tell
y'all ya gotta get real

We go back and forth and all we ever do is
make and break our deals
Lookin' for a bargain, better yet lookin' for
what we can steal
When I go out walkin' I think about how bad
it feels (how bad it feels)
Doncha's see it's all within the wheels

When ya look at me I feel you can see right
inside,
When you're next to me I get the feelin' you
gonna give me a good ride (someday),
We go back and forth and all we do is tell
each other lies,
We look real good, we act real brave, but
inside we're terrified

When ya look at me I think I know just how
you feel, (how you feel,)
Donchas see it's all within the wheels

When we get to talkin' you always say you
gotta get on goin',
When you're walkin' out you gotta know
what it is you're showin',
We go back and forth and still be actin' like
we ain't knowin',
What we're all about and why we can't
commit.

When we get to talkin' I think about how sad
it feels, (how sad it feels)
Why doncha see it's all within the wheels

In response to a question:

While you could do the M/S setup is with yer OH's, it's not typical.

The M/S is usually done from the front.

Y'know how some peeps say the mix from the OH's and then use the close mic's to fill in (my general stylee), and others use the snare & kick and then build from that?

With M/S you use the M/S first and then support it.

I forgot my camera, but I had the M/S mic's at the height of the drummer's chin, about 1.5' in front of the kit.

I use the dynamic GX's for overheads because they are dynamics, in that we are in a very live room with low ceilings.

Mix-wise, I'd say the OH's are 15%, the close mics 15%, the mid 35% and the side(s) 30% of the sound on this one.

Something mebbe interesting: the rhythm guitars are played with the exact same settings and chain (Peavey Hotfoot (chorus only), Holy Grail reverb and Electar 15w. into 2x12" Celestion open-back, mic'd ribbon to VTB1. I just swtched guitars, Tele to SG.

Also, I note that the reso was actually thru the Marshall ...

Thanx for listening!
