Here's a look at the tracking room in my new studio in Norman, Oklahoma. I've only been here for a couple of months, so I'm still fine tuning things. But, I'm pretty thrilled with the sound of the room.

This setup was for some writing/preproduction sessions with my own band, Depth & Current. We haven't tracked all together in the same room with this setup, yet... but, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. And, this stuff is sounding so excellent, that we'll probably end up using a lot of this on the album.

Hey, cool; thanks.

Your diffuser-- just above the Fender amp? What are the little open louvers?
I had this idea of using shutters with opening/closing louvers to do something like that (reflective/half-reflective/absorptive); just wondering if someone did it and it worked? (Or are they more like fixed vents?)

They're fixed vents. These are reclaimed diffusors from another local studio that did some remodeling. Those were originally over their HVAC vents.

Seems like if you had some moveable vents over some absorptive material, it could still function effectively as a bass trap, while allowing you some fine control over how much mid/high reflectivity you have in the room. Sounds cool!
