Haven't seen this mentioned on TOMB yet, loving the new Booker T album - produced by Questlove (I'm a bit in love with his drum sounds) and engineered by Gabe Roth (I'm a bit in love with his engineering) and it's a given that I'm alot in love with Booker T, so this is a perfect record for me

Nice studio video on youtube, complete with derogatory comments from dude who hates the drums, and inevitable argument and name calling

Man,
This is awesome.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

This is great. There seems to be quite an intense drum discussion in the comments.
I really like questlove's playing style. It has this almost sloppy feel to it, but it grooves so hard.
I'd like to change your mind by hitting it with a rock.

In case you guys are interested, I just did an
interview with Gabe Roth about engineering this record.
His approach? Minimal. And perfectly suited.
I had fun listening about the whole thing. Maybe you'll enjoy reading it?

I was really disappointed with Booker T and the Drive By Truckers on PBS recently. And the Roots with John Legend underwhelmed me. But this sounds awesome. The roots are freakin' monsters. I do feel like they hold themselves back a bit when they're backing up other people.

Anyone jonesing for more Booker might want to check out McLEMORE AVENUE, which is the MGs' radical covering and resequencing of ABBEY ROAD. Definitely an interesting take on how to rearrange (and sometimes reharmonize) those tunes.
