I own a few guitars, two of what are active pups.
I hate the active pups, and so don't play what are actually a cuppla nice guitars (custom MIJ Strat-type with Red-Dots and a G&L F100E).
I always find 'em too tweaky when I switch after a passive guitar, and I have had a battery die midsong ...
I don't have that many basses (my main instrument for jams, currently); I don''t want one I won't play, hence my comment. _________________ vlayman; THD; blog; TFP |

My wife just returned from a two-week trip to Ghana, West Africa. She is not "new equipment," but still the best birthday present I've received in a long time...
In any event, she had in tow with her: a brand new hand-made goat-skin talking drum, an iron double-bell, and two atoke/"banana bells," all items which I had requested and which were perfect picks.

Over the past few weeks...
Ampex ATR-700
Effectron II 1024
Auratone 5c Super sound cubes (pair)
Adcom GFA-545 (for NS-10s)
LINE2AMP kit (2)
Been trying to save money for some much needed Acoustical Treatment, and keep procrastinating with buying other fun stuff. But now, for real, I am going to succeed.
Just took the eBay app off the iPhone...
Rock.

Gone long ago.
Thought about removing Safari, but not allowed to, it seems.

Two items, a AT mic mixer and a EV 634 Slimaire mic - both defective altho' sold as functioning. (Second time I bougfht a defective Slimaire - I give up.)
A friend has a friend works for the Evilbog, says music equipment is one of the most complained-of areas of sales, lots of misrepresentation and ignorance. _________________ vlayman; THD; blog; TFP |

A set of Zildjian Armand hihats off the bay.
And from a yard sale, I picked up a Dynakit Pas-2 Stereophonic Preamp from the 60s. This is the kit version of the Dynaco Pas-2, a popular vehicle for restoration and mods. Runs on four 12AX7As and a 12X4; fired up just fine during testing. With some service this puppy will rock some vintage tube hifi enthusiast's world. On its way to to a new home in California now.
Also a 60s Conn french horn and a Sansui G-6000 reciever from 1978. 310 watts through 2 pairs of speakers.

Apogee Ensemble...the converters are a bit more flattering than the RME Multiface II it replaced. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but whatever...Abbey Road sounds pretty good on it right now. _________________ ~~~~~~~~

Yamaha 115D organ...complete with bench and loads of sheet music...
I really didn't intend to bring this home or keep it, I was checking out the garage sales in the area and right as I pulled up someone was hauling the organ and its bench to the curb. They said I could have it so I took it, thinking I could turn it easy. Well I pulled it out my car today to plug it in and see if it worked...and started finding some Zelda/Mario sounds in its arpeggiator and its drum machine is pretty cool...so had to move my other dual manual organ to make room for this one.... *sigh* Maybe someday someone will realize how musically interesting the old Yamaha organs are and they'll be worth a lot of money, but for right now...its a cheap source of analog synth action/cheese in a non-portable package. |

Currently fixing up a Tascam 424.
Last week was a very good week. By way of craigslist trade I acquired a Juno-60 and a Realistic MG-1. |

Well not very portable or programmable...but for what it DOES do, it is amusing... Not replacing any of the dedicated synths I have for sure, but surely better to rescue it than send it to the landfill... |
