A bunch of local (Baltimore) producers and engineers get together monthly and hang and talk about records (and drink beer). We decided to do a shootout. It's not perfect and I am sure we are missing mics, but I thought to share here.
Hope everyone is well....

Nice side by side info....Would have liked to heard a 602 and a D6. I liked that last one...Sounded like a sample _________________ Of course I've had it in the ear before..... |

Not to harsh on your shootout, which I very much enjoyed, but I'd love to hear a shootout where all the mics were compared placed where they each sounded best and then normalized for volume, rather than all in the exact same spot. The latter would seem to favor whatever the first mic was. I'd also love to hear them mixed with some overheads or something. Sometimes a mic might sound thin or whatever solo'd but just perfect in the mix. _________________ Carl Keil |

I use the Nd 868 for kick but i loved the blue mouse sound! I would mix that with the cascade.
Good work
what about an original d12 in there? and compare that to a d112 _________________ Super 70 Studio.. where perfection is not an accident but we keep trying.

| Dear god, what did you do to the 87? I've had one in front of a kick a couple times and it's never sounded that screwed up. |
