Anyone currently use these portable vocal booth things, whatever brand?
I record in my bedio, and while I'm not sad about the sounds I'm getting, I am always open to improvement.
Will one of these things make a noticeable difference?
Any brand recommendations?
Or just better to make one?
(And yes, I UTFSF, why I asked "currently", and re brands.) _________________ vlayman; THD; blog; TFP |

I built one a few years ago out of a bass drum I sawed in half. I still use it pretty frequently and it does make a difference. Whether it's enough difference for your situation, I don't know.
I teach an intro Audio Production course at a local community college, and the production booths are not treated at all-- a classroom with a couple little ProTools rigs. I use my bass drum contraption to get some of that wonky room sound out. That's where it lives right now. It's ugly, but it does the job.
I've got an extra bass drum shell at home. If you want to cover shipping, you can have it to try it out. |

Obviously I'm biased, but yes I find portable absorbers to be very useful. I have 2 PVBs, and a few panels on stands, and one or more of them gets used just about every time I record. _________________ Making the world sound better, one room at a time |

I've got one of the SE ones that I use at home. It's VERY GOOD at getting rid of the sheetrock/apartment sound. Handy. _________________ http://www.cowboytechnical.com/
