...so I ordered the switch-craft 5501f connector from evilbay and it don't fit!!!!! The size is right but the thread pattern is wrong. I am ordering another male connector to see if i can replace the one on the microphone. Who knew this would be such a PITA I'll keep yall' informed. _________________ Good Luck At Any Cost |

I wonder if you might order the correct size "blank" from Switchcraft, and have a machinist thread it for you?

Maybe Greg. I think trying to replace the male connector on the body (or re-machining it) might be the way to go since the female screw-on part needs to fit not only the connection on the mic but screw down over the body that it is attached to. I found a source for the 5501MP (male surface mount) connector too...I just wonder if it will screw into the mic body (or press-fit...or hot glue....or....)
I can also take a pair of pliers and crank that sucker on for eternity....which is what I will likely do. Because I'm lazy. _________________ Good Luck At Any Cost |
