It depends.
What is the audio file currently encoded as?
And is there a software program that can extract that audio from that format?

i have both the dvd and an audio only wav file (that lists in the properties - 24bit/48 khz 6 channels format PCM) can i break out that WAV into 6 channels of audio?

You should be able to use Audacity.
