Hi, im new to using tapes, but i have aquired an AKAI GX 4000D, which i absolutely love to record stuff onto from the box.
I have noticed tho, that the high end of the spectrum gets phase cancelled of a stereo recording in a cyclic manner. If i listen to L/R channels independently you can only hear a slight fluctuation, which should be normal i guess, but they are not in sync, so it gets this phasing sound (at around 9-15Khz) if mixed to mono.
I know its a consumer machine, but i dont think stereo phasing should be an issue. Any ideas?
Thanks !
(I can record a mono pink noise in stereo and show the phase flipped sound if it helps.)
